                                                            Vital Murder

Have you ever been stuck in a place for so long that you start to regret every decision you’ve ever made? Well that's me, my name is Sarah Goodman I am forty-two year old and I have made some bad choices that led me to a dreadful place. This is how my story begins. At 21 years old I lived in an apartment downtown in Springfield, Missouri with my sweet Aunt Norma who was very sick with Alzheimer's disease so I had to take good care of her. Doctor Grant said that Aunt Norma only had four to eight years left to live, but I still knew that even if she did pass she would be in a better place. My responsibility was to pay for the rent, Norma’s medication, and to get a good education, so I had to go to college in the afternoon at Global University then work night shifts at the pizza shack which was 4 hours away so I had to take the train there. This wasn’t just any train it was very cold all the time and people always sung beautiful music and played wonderful instruments, it seemed really peaceful at first until a group of kids came running on the train dressed as thugs wearing there typical outfit a black pinstriped suit or a collared shirt with a white tie . When I arrived at the pizza shack I saw many customers come in and the famous actor Leonardo Decaprio, I felt really excited because he could buy many pizzas and maybe raise my salary so I went over to ask him for his autograph and if he needed anything else. Later the next morning it was a cloudy day as I walk to my College Algebra class my cousin Zoey invites me to a party at her boyfriend’s Max house, I told her that I couldn’t because I had to watch and take care of my Aunt Norma but she kept on asking so I finally gave in. Late at night at 12:00 pm, I made sure Aunt Norma got her meds and was asleep then I sneaked out the window quietly, grabbed my jacket then ran really fast and jumped in Max’s car with Zoe alongside. As I walked in the party there were a lot of people dancing to loud music and drinking liquor. It seemed really crowded. I felt a little costlofobic. I felt really vigorous because I had never done something like this before. I went over to the back and started dancing with Zoe and Max, then Zoe went to lay down because she had too much liquor to drink. While Zoe was asleep, Max and I started talking about how Zoe doesn't have to be in the picture anymore and how we should be more than friends. I started to see how nice Max was and how Zoe didn't deserve a guy like him so I told Max that we didn’t have to tell Zoe about us. At 2:00 in the afternoon Zoe had finally woken up she didn’t remember falling asleep in Max’s parents bedroom. The only thing she could remember is the loud music that was playing and dancing with Max and I. 24 hours later everything was back to normal, Aunt Norma was watching tv and I went to college. People were walking to their classes hanging out with the same crowd, even Max and Zoe were still a couple, it was like almost nothing ever happened last night between us so after class I gave Max a letter saying to meet me behind the bleachers at 5:00 pm. As I rushed to my apartment at 4:45pm to get ready to see Max I pulled out the gun that my dad gave me before my mom kicked him out. Nobody knew about this gun except for me. It was cold at night my skin was calm but it was only Max who would be gone especially if he denies the truth. So when he walks towards me I ask him in a hot tempered way if he remembered what happened between us last night. He nodded and smirked a little saying that he only remembers us dancing a little. I knew he was lying because he kept on grinning so I pulled out my gun from behind my back earnestly then gave max a final warning to tell me the truth or else I would pull the trigger he kept on contradicting but this time he seemed scared but that didn’t stop me from pulling the trigger, as he was trying to run away I shot him in the back three times and then ran away. A few days later Zoe started to worry about Max’s disappearance, So I told her that I would take her to the mall to get her mind off of him, later that night at 10:00 pm Zoe and I decided to break into the mall because we thought it would be more exciting. While walking towards the clothes center me and Zoe start to steal a few things but I wanted something more so I went over to the counter and stole a few hundred dollars out of the cash machine then I went over to Zoe and ask her if she wanted any, Zoe responded in a forceful tone saying that she didn't want to be apart of this anymore and that she's going to go tell the authorities, right before she tries to leave I put a bullet right in the back of her head. In a hurry I grabbed the cash then mistakenly left the gun on the cash machine. Two days later on a stormy rainy muddy day the cops pushed the doorbell forceful I wondered what was going on so as I open the door the two cops ask me if my name was Sarah Goodman I told them no the first time but then I’ saw one of the cops put their hand on a gun so in a state of shock I tried to run but the officer grabbed my arm tightly then arrested me. The FBI agents found out that I killed both Zoe and Max so they sent Aunt Norma to a home for the elderly then the judge charged me with third degree murder and I was sent to prison for 14 years but on the day I got released I went to some support groups where people share a common disorder, and also discuss their experiences, give ideas and provide emotional support for one another. I continued to tell people about my story and how it's never too late to do the right thing because I knew that they needed to hear it.
