An arguement thing

Now, this is just my opinion so don't be offended although I don't think you will be because I'm not an BLOOP, so please listen.

Now, I love the poet community, I really do, but before I became a part of this, there was something that put me off. The generic poetry. All of the sappy love poetry put in movies and cartoons. Now, how many times did you see art being referenced. Now how about poetry. When we keep on making the generic sappiness that is modern love poetry then poetry as an art form looks more..."ridiculous"...Art can be placed everywhere, but we are all scared to place our poetry everywhere. We're afraid to be poets in public.

I was watching a Vsauce video. If you have never heard of Vsauce, then I suggest you go check him out, he makes very interesting videos. The video was entitled "What is the shortest poem?".Now this was cool. People pushed the boundaries of what poetry can be. Now here is something that someone came up with:

Lighght

That is a poem, what is above...Yes, know what you're thinking, how is that a poem? Well, that is what makes this so novel and therefore...incredible...It still counts as a poem by definition, but do you know what this does? It changes our perspective of how this art form is. It poses the question "what is a poem?". Now, I kind of feel hypocritical by saying this while a lot of my poems aren't anywhere near this, but this is not what I mean. We can't always push it as far as this, but maybe we can just try. I challenge you to make a corky funny poem every once in a while. Get those creative juices flowing. Change the way we think poetry should be.
