There's a place....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Mar 26, 2021

"I've set my time machine for 1966..
and again it's another beautiful sunny day....
here we all are lying on the grass...the football (for now) is put away,
three hours of footy has finally took its toll...we all can hardly walk,
now we enjoy just chillin' out...and spend some time to talk.
I'm back in time....just seventeen..it's great to see the lads..
and as we talk, I can't believe...that my mates are now all dads!..
is it only me that has this gift...of going back in time?..
it's so very strange to be with my mates..and see us still in our prime..
..eventually, once more...I have to come back to 2021...
I don't think anyone had even noticed....the fact that I had gone!..
now I've got a triumphant smile, set permanently upon my face..
because I know that one day soon....I will revisit that special place."
