Peace In The Storm

Peace In The Storm

It was a boisterous windy day
As I hiked the mountainside
Trees were swaying back and forth
Some of the climbers were terrified

As I surveyed a ledge in the rock
Something special caught my eye
A lone bush was anchored there
Secure in a crevice, "high and dry"

Closer observation revealed
A birds nest carefully made
Attached securely to the limbs
Defying nature's escapade

A mother bird sat calmly there
Oblivious to the violent wind
Circumventing her surroundings
Circumstances, - did not offend

"Peace" - in the midst of a storm
Of this, she was confident
She knew higher power prevailed
There was no fear, not even a hint

From this, a lesson we should learn
It's a principal Jesus taught
In Him, there's peace in a storm
Contentment, - that can't be bought
