YOU, AND ME....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on May 24, 2019

"You were still a schoolgirl just fifteen years old,
I was only seventeen, with a story to be told.
I really needed someone...someone special just like you,
I was lost... aimlessly drifting off to nowhere,
desperate for a soulmate to cling to.
I needed someone to need me...someone to truly care,
then out of nowhere, you appeared, suddenly Mary... you were there.
Never ever did I feel this way, for any girl before,
but this strange feeling, I was feeling...I really wasn't sure.
I just knew that you and me felt special,
I'd never experienced that emotion called love,
but when we weren't together.... Mary it was only you I could think of.
We've lived our lives with each other, I'm certain it was meant to be,
hardly spent any time apart....Mary, it will always be you, and me."
