FALCON....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Jan 24, 2019

"Such a magnificent bird, that graces our skies,
a deadly predator with telescopic eyes.
Homing in on its prey, with meticulous precision,
there's no hope for the target when once in its vision.
Swooping in for the kill, using the element of surprise,
a vole gripped tight in sharp talons...in an instant it dies.
The falcon lacks remorse when hunting for food,
kills purely on instinct, when feeding its hungry brood.
Ruthless, and deadly, but majestic in flight,
soaring then hovering....what a beautiful sight.
Swiftly out of a tree top, into a steep dive,
an awesome creation of nature, Falcons...long may they thrive."
