Solitary moment.

It is such a lovely Decembers Day
All my cares have flown away
A squirrel runs along my fence
Then jumps down on my garden bench.

The crows are many they are nearby
They spread there wings and away they fly
All is quiet their is no one around
This solitary moment the sweetest sound.

The squirrel it seems has again returned
It's amazing what we humans can learn
Looking at there instinctive ways
Now the magpie arrives and has his say.

I don't get involved I just let them be
I head for the kitchen for biscuits and tea
Not much to do on this December morn
So I watch all those antics there on my lawn.

Well pretty soon it will be all actions go
There are things to do and that I know
I hear upstairs those moving feet
This solitary moment is now complete.
