Dandelions

poem by: D'Vina Dietrich

Two pristine Dandelions
Swaying in the breeze
Amongst the blue sky

Happiness surrounded me
The strength they carried
To never blow away

Years fly by
But the Dandelions didn't
They were perfect

The breeze
Now a gusty wind
Blew away a bit of them

They still stood
Never would they leave?
Damaged but alive

More years pass
They start to slump
Now fear arises

Don't give up now!
You've made it this far
Come on!

One last gust
They blew away
Finally giving in.

I watched them for years
Got use to there presence
Now they are gone.

A tear rolls down my cheek.
I stare at a empty spot
Every day.

Hoping for return
Knowing they never will.
How could this be?

Days are not the same
Skies arent as blue
The wind just blows.
