Make me understand

poem by: Freesa Khan

Why do I always lose in every fight that we have,
Why do I even try, when everything makes you so mad.
I wondered for the longest time why i continued to care,
For when I needed you, you were never really there.

You've been given such a title, one I may not receive,
And all this time you did your best to mess with what I believe.
Yet whatever you do I'm forced to care no matter how much the pain,
And listen to your every word as you play with my heart and brain.

So here's to you for your success and for all that you've done,
made me feel like garbage as you gloated whenever you won.
I guess I'll never know what it feels like to be free,
You took away my happiness, and any chance me being me.

Nice poem Freesa , I wish you well.
Janet Vick commented:
Well, my soap box is "why did you let someone steal who you are?" No one should go into or be in a relationship where you have to change who you are. You learn to mesh together and agree to be different. Works for me! Hope things are looking up. Take care. Janet

Unfortunately this is a relationship I didn't have any control over. This poem is about my mom! Doesn't matter what I do she'll always remain my mom!

Nicely written poem, but do not sell yourself short, and don't let anyone put you down, Get rid of him if he treats you like this. I enjoyed your poem, filled with feelings....Peter

its regrettable what a bad relationship can do to a person but within these relationships we find a strength within. even if we don not see it. it is not a weekness buta struggle. and even if we cannot escape we have to jump hurdles. when we are eventually free we have learnt so much. its just a shame some of us couldn't have leant a nicer lesson in life x
Shanta commented:
What's not of Him - powerless to do anything to you! A well written poem however, true conclusion may only come from the Unfathomable - "the small voice".
