Life Goes on.....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Apr 01, 2017

"There comes a time in your life, when you unfold the years,
you remember the laughs, and also the tears.
The days in Lodge lane, are memories that I recall,
not having our own house, sticks out most of all.
Moving to Kirkby, is so clear in my old head,
at last our own house! at last my own bed!
Making lots of new friends, that were also football daft,
out playing in Spinney Woods, and the back of the Kraft.
Those carefree days, when football was my life,
also my Mary, and the day she became my lovely wife.
The pain in my heart, when my poor mum passed away,
the pain that's still there, to this very day.
The birth of my two daughters, filled me with great joy,
now I'm a man, no longer a boy.
As I sit here recalling events of my distant past,
i look to my own future....and long may it last."

Such a well written poem Frank.I must admit I look back to the past.I met a pal not so long back from 45 years ago the days of the kinks cream and the yardbirds I must admit it took me back in time .he is still a bill Hayley fan.hence I wrote photographs and memories.

Thanks for your comment Chris......as we get older our life is like a book, and it's easy to turn back the "pages"......and "read" incidents from the past.....nice ones are best......
