The Mermaid

A mermaid swims. She dives. She frolics. She twists.
Seaweed in her hair. A coral jewel at her wrist.

The water, the foam, the sea, and the salt.
You find her sexy and free, but it is not your fault.

She glides, she giggles. She's smooth and she's wet.
She will enchant. She will entice. She will avoid your net.

She will promise. She will beckon. And naturally, you will swoon.
She glows silver and gold in the light of the moon.

Your life is forgotten. It is just you two.
Nothing else matters. No one else will do.

You risk all for a touch, for a hug, for a kiss.
The world has stopped. There is only this bliss.

She is your addiction. Your drug. Your watery jewel
To pursue this course, one might label you a fool

But you don't care. It doesn't matter. Her hair. Her skin.
These have become your goal. You must drink them in.

You abandon your house, your wife, and your child
You can not be immune to the call of the wild

You see her now, this mermaid. And it is all worthwhile.
She is so charming. So alive. She swallows you up with her smile.

You have caught her! You possess her. In delight, you will moan.
But in a twinkle. In a flash. You are left all alone.
