The Bag Lady

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Feb 17, 2017

"She limps so slowly, along a Liverpool Street,
with all her possessions in a rusty old pram,
nobody seems to even notice her, nobody seems to give a damn,
jobless, and homeless, blisters bleeding on her aching feet,
each day a long pitiful struggle, with no money to buy food or drink to eat.
She's tramped the city's streets for umpteen years,
without a home to rest her weary head,
sleeping rough, in derelict buildings, she dreams of a nice warm bed.
How much longer, can the old girl cling to life?
as each bitter winter takes its toll,
at least death would end her pain...God bless her poor old soul."

A really good poem.so many people live rough in birmingham city . And yet so many empty flats inside tower blocks.
