Empty nest..

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Feb 16, 2017

"We first set up our home in a little two up, two down,
just me, and my wife Mary, in Liverpool our home town.
Soon along came our two daughters....tiny hands, tiny feet,
everything was just perfect, our family now complete.
So many days filled with laughter, sprinkled with just a few tears,
the joy of rearing our children, oh, to relive those precious years,
but like fledglings, they must leave us.... to pass life's ruthless test,
our house is now so quiet....just like an empty nest."
