Ah, well....

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Feb 14, 2017

"I've got bad news," the foreman said,
"We've got to finish you up,"
those words still echo inside my head,
my mind went numb, I couldn't believe my ears,
you can't sack me! I've been here three years!
He's made a mistake, he can't mean me,
he will soon change his mind, just wait, and see.
But yes it was true, I've got no job,
I've now lost the chance to earn a few bob,
Ah, well, never mind, I heard myself say,
then I just shook my head, and walked slowly away."

Very sad but a common story these days...very well written.

Just a suggestion, but maybe you can finish it off by saying ,when one door closes ,another one always opens. I've found this happening in my life a few times. Well written.
