Job club ls here, There is no need to fear. Three hours of boredom and terror, We are all very sad, this really is bad, Someone has made a big error. We get the newspapers out, To see what jobs are about. We talk 'till half past three, Some smoke, some drink, while others just think, Of what to cook for tea. Sign your life away, We hear the man say. As he gives us the pen and the paper, We have to prove that we' re here, or the price will be dear, We won't get our money from Heather. Would you like a coffee? Here, have a toffee, What did you do last night? The shop did well, we managed to sell, That dress that looked such a sight. At job club we sit, And chatter a bit. We try to stay alert. We would rather go out, of that there's no doubt, Than to see another advert. This is about when I was working as a volunteer in a charity shop. We had to go Every Thursday to job club looking at out of date newspapers to try and find a Proper job.
