Snowfall on Foothills

poem by: Paul Goetzinger
Written on Dec 23, 2016

Blustery winter storm invades
Touching a sprinkling of snow
On low elevations
Stranding motorists on icy highways
Towns resembling ski resorts
Schools close
Foothills freeze

Bundled up children
Explode out of houses
Cheeks rosy from the cold
For snowball fights
Making snowmen
Sledding and snowboarding

Sons and daughters
Navigating slippery slopes
In morning hours
On unplowed roads

Tree limbs falling
Under weight of snow
Arctic front
Drops temperatures
While citizens snap photos
Of snow covered lawns

Some love snow some hate it. I love it, in it's place.
