Those were the day's

poem by: Keith Jepson
Written on Nov 12, 2016

In day's called 'old' we were told
to be, 'polite and well mannered'
but as soon as we were old enough
we went out and got hammered
Well..there was Dillon, and Donvan, The Beatles too
not forgetting Dave Clark Five,
we did the Twist, the Stomp, the Mashed Potato and Frug
we even knew how to jive!
Rockers and Mods.. (we were cheeky sods)
rode scooters and hogs and the like
There was protests of 'Nam' and ban the bomb
from London to Heckmondwike...
In fact, all over the spot..we did it a lot
and the times they were mostly fantastic
and if I could I would do it again
Look at the world now.. pretty drastic?
But do not despair there's hope in the air
go out and be hale and hearty
enjoy your life, friends, and family too
and in the next life... we shall all party
