No secrets to hold

poem by: Gemma Morgan

The moment you asked about my world
I treated it with caution
I felt like my family should come with a warning
If you would judge
Would you understand
For those who feel the trauma I did
It's simply no joke
A sad lonely kid
Alone and afraid of heat people might think
About how we were surrounded by constant drink
You knew the very same
Which is when the time came
Opened my heart knowing no fear
Deep down you would still hold me dear
Not my fault ,simply their sin
You understood the world I was in
Knowing you knew the same
Is why we carry no shame .
