Everything ends

Cold, sterile, blank, empty,
why bother with any of this
It has no place to go.
It's a cascading glacial river of loss and sadness
vanishing into a bottomless pit buried
In a vortex of shattered dreams.
Ending as dried meaningless words and feelings.
Why do emotions rip so violently at a soul.
Where do love and tenderness go to truly die.
The pain lessens as time slides past the moment everything began to vanish,
but love never dies easily and painlessly.
Day and night sitting in silence wondering if there is anything to salvage.
Wondering why anything should be salvaged.
Can love just become a casual friendship
without breaking a heart and crushing a soul.
I think not. Everything ends.

Beautiful poem, it helps me now to cope with the things I'm dealing with, it's really moving and raw
