Sonnet for Sandhurst Baptist Church

SBC Sonnet

The road winds like an artery through the town
Past rail and river, houses shops and field
The heedless travellers pass and barely glance round
No bend from anxious purpose do they yield
But stop a moment, look there by the verge
A small oasis, a tranquil haven of peace
Where one might untangle thoughts, emotions, and emerge
To a clearer view of life, and blessed release
Modest clean and neat and ringed with flowers
The Sandhurst Baptist church tends the spirit's need
Yet it's not the bricks and tiles that shape this bower
But living souls who create it, protect and feed
Their love and care in substance these words expressing
"I will bless you and you will be a blessing"
