Courage

                                Courage by Timothy Leigh

I stand as one, within the flame,
Forged in the coals, and embers of defeat.
Hardened with failure,mistakes threw out
Adolescent youth,knowing strife, but disregard
The consequences. Now only to see the mortality
Of it all. Loosing all to gain false respect.

Only hope, one day to hold a high esteem of worth,
And value, with a hunger to defeat the demons
Inside. I pick myself up to take my place on
The field of battle, with all flaws, one shame
Placed on a pedestal, for the world to mock.
I know what I am, and where that I have come from.
I will be more than I am,something more than I deserve,
To find courage, in a world with no honor. To become
That which I must be, only then can I be victorious,
Over this world of calamity...
