After The Bomb

poem by: Marie Nugent

Bang and blast
would it last
crash loud as can be
rubble rubble ev wer
as far as the eye can see
is it neva ending
will it stop
i craw from under thro off wots on top
i drag my fellow man by the arm
he bleeds from the head
he cries out in pain
this war more deaths than gain
we carwl for ages and hide till dark
then once again in the distant ..Crack
the sky lights up with colours so bright
more people will die
in the blitz tonight
i can not feel my legs
my friend is dead
iv dragged my body as far as i can
my body drains of the life force my blood,
body cold i die in the mud

Richard Chapman commented:
Rocket engines burning fuel so fast. Up into the night sky they blast Burning metal through the atmosphere Earth remains in worry hate and fear With the hateful battles raging on Rockets flying to the glowing sun Back on earth to flame of life burns low Everwhere is misery and woe As we try to save our earth Rockets fly to our peoples rebirth As the colony survives The flame of life on earth dies.
