Existence

poem by: Samantha Johnson
Written on May 12, 2015

Everyone is still asleep
The night went by like that
From silence in the middle
To the screeching of a bat
In this my little heaven
Has sealed my fate too fast
Before I see what’s hit me
The end has come to pass
Feel what there is to feel
With minds eye watch in vain
Touch the delicate flower
That you could never save
I find it hard to sleep
It’s time to pull the pin
In silence I sit I listen
To the emptiness within
Only then can I determine
Who I’m supposed to be
Fill the void with love and hope
Our dreams are meant to be

The world will always turn
The future will unfold
Life is but to live
Before we grow too old
