Footwear

poem by: Samantha Johnson
Written on May 12, 2015

I’ve been asked to put myself in someone else’s shoes
So I’ll put the thong on the other foot while searching for a clue
Oh how to see the world through someone else’s eyes
I’ve tried pumps, stilettos and sandals but on my runners I’ll rely
To take me on my journey to the land of others feet
To leave an imprint of my sole in the wet concrete
I can always let my slippers suggest just where to go
To truly feel someone else’s stride this I want to know
Maybe I can ask someone or let them tell their story
Of how their west was won and about their feats of glory
So now that I’ve been asked how on earth can I refuse?
I’ll just ensure all step are taken in someone else’s shoes!!
