Gather My Rage

poem by: Samantha Johnson
Written on May 12, 2015

I gather my rage
To forge out a way
To carve out my truth
And live for the day
My memories may fade
I forgive but hold on
My future is now
My yesterday's gone
I am the sum
Of my every thought
Of my every move
And all I've been taught
Time that has gone
Nothing can change
So I will embrace
The choices I've made
For all that I am
I love myself
So I can store
My pride on the shelf
Connected to all
Living things that I see
Now I exist
By just being me.
