In solitude

poem by: Elizabeth J White

I am around family and friends at times, sometimes being with those I love Is the greatest Joy in life.
There are times, that cannot be bought, When
I need some alone time , surrounded by nature alone with my thoughts.

there have been times I turned off the radio and the tube
didn't answer some calls, some may have thought me rude.

In these times I feel I hear the whisper of a still small voice
the one who gave me all things, but most of all freedom, with choice.

In the quiet I feel a touch of someone who means so much.
alone, maybe someone passes and throws up a hand, I don't wave, they don't understand.

I am not stuck up, not being rude, getting in touch with his presence in a world of solitude.

I know how you feel, I do that too although you are never really alone. When you are by yourself you can either talk to GOD or enjoy your alone time. You write beautiful poems Elizabeth and I believe you are too. God Bless...
