NO MAN IS AN ISLAND ST. LUCIA 46 INDEPENDENCE
It is said that no man is an Island
Guest no one has told Charles Lewis
Making the impossible possible oui
He is an entrepreneur of reunion sorts
The only winemaker in St. Lucia's true
Right here in the hamlet of Canelles
Just how does he do it in a dry, dry land
Where water is scarce and the soil is hard
Don’t tell that to Charles! not in his vocabulary
His pioneering spirit led him to create
His invention! of the sugar cane module grinder
Took him to a faraway country quite asunder
Melon wine, plum wine, sugarcane wine! Devine
Several assortments! offered to your delighted
The first inhabitant of sleepy Canelles! son of Leslie
Something special about the Lewis family! I dare say
Shout out to Charles! on your way to Vieux Fort North
Sitting under the Calabash tree! he needs no introduction
There in his backyard, you find potatoes, cassava, and corn
Charles will charm you with his melody compositions
A guitar-playing genus, his tune! Take Ty Cross Follow Him
Tunes you have never heard, like! Backward St. Lucians
There is a madness to his lyrics! an enforcer of country life
Happy 46 St. Lucia! Sprouting bold men like Charles Lewis
