PRIDE OF A NATION THE LEWIS STORY
Old man, Montgomery was a Lewis.
Is there a statue of Montgomery no
Sir Allen Montgomery Lewis's service
Was a St. Lucian barrister At Law
Twice served as St. Lucia Governer General
Sir William Arthur his brother was a Lewis too
Receive Nobel prize for Economics stone one
Gentleman Victor's barrister At law was a Lewis
But do you know Leslie the fisherman he was a Lewis
Leslie my grandfather's husbandman was a fisherman
Carried the Lewis title with distinction and pride
That makes me Kenvil he too I am a Lewis with pride also
Hear me sing out their legacy their triumph for country
No jesting about Mongtromy's first Governor that is for sure
He signs the Declaration of Independence for St. Lucia
United Workers Party the ruling party I’ll say no more
St. Lucia now unshackled for forty-six years of memory
Shine the light on you saviors Sir Allen Montgomery Lewis
Generations know his name written on the deceleration paper
Don’t forget he was there when others declared independence no dear.
