Purpose Of It All

poem by: Jay Shades
Written on Oct 31, 2024

What is the purpose of it all?
If oceans drift, then fade away.
Though every night and day we call,
Our spirits stray, our colours grey.

Show me the colours as they gleam,
The reasons glistening in view.
We flex and bend as one shared dream
What’s left to lose, what can we do?

Frustrations turn to challenges,
As goals slip past, do we reflect?
Do we rewind, do we progress,
Or drift, unsure of what comes next?
