Keeping it Together
The many times I have been grabbed,
read through, pages have been flipped,
pages have been folded down,
I have been picked up, and
traveled from town to town,
accidentally dropped, and
carried around,
been on trips to so many places,
shared and enjoyed by many,
with delightful smiles on their faces,
I have kept you entertained, I have kept you on the edge, I have been your Endulgance,
while you are lying on your bed.
I made you laugh, I have made you cry,
I made you think, and wonder why.
Now, I am old tattered, and falling apart
I have seen a lot of people, and I take this to Heart
Now, I'm collecting dust as I sit on this shelf,
Waiting to be read by someone else,
I will keep your interest, it gets no better,
but I'm getting so old, I need to keep it together.
I am falling apart and my pages are dirty,
I will be taken off this shelf, and be replaced in a hurry,
It time to retire I have seen my days,
I will always remember All the readers I engaged!!!!!
