My Eternal Rose

poem by: Andy Wilden
Written on Dec 17, 2014

Roses might be red, and violets blue,
but nothing compares to how much I love you.
Your love touches me and now I know peace,
I want our love to grow forever, not cease.

I believe in my heart the love that you've told,
Of seasonal nights together as we grow old.
Committed to you, in each others arms,
Away from the pain, away from the harms.

My heart is an open book for you to read,
to share all my thoughts, wherever there is a need.
I want to love you forever, of this there is no doubt,
I want everyone to know of my love, to scream and to shout.

We've both seen the pain of past, that we've shared,
our building love together, lovingly cared.
In my dreams you are fixed so real,
to hear your sweet name, my breath does it steal.

I only hope you'll stand by my side,
and seeing my eyes and heart, of the love that abides.
The past is the past, , how I love you so much,
All I hope and dream about, is your sweet lips and touch.

If I must fight fire and shadows to show that I care,
to show that my love is real, forever to share.
I'll do anything to show my love true,
With all of my heart, mind, body and soul, I dearly love you.

Summer Duncan commented:
So beautiful... This means so much to me. My daughter Rose is in the hospital, she was burned in a house fire and I went back in to get her out. This poem has touched my heart.
Andy Wilden commented:
Glad it means something to you summer. To know it's touched your heart means the world to a poet, ty for your comment.
Christopher Russon commented:
This poem indeed is a lovely write. Love really does grow as years go by.
