Fleeting

poem by: John Prophet
Written on Dec 18, 2019

Like a
breath.
It comes
then it
goes.
A blink.
In a blink.
What was
young turns
old.
What was
old turns
ancient.
Irrelevance,
pure
irrelevance.
In a breath,
irrelevant.
Fleeting sparks.
Sparks
in the
dark.
Barely there.
Barely there
at all!
Echos, ripples
in the dark.
In the void.
Eons pass.
All forgotten.
Deep time
devours all,
leaving nothing.
Nothing
at all.
