PHOTOGRAPH...

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Apr 11, 2019

"I simply want to touch your face...I want to hear you laugh,
I haven't seen you in over forty years...all I have is a photograph.
I've missed you mum, it's been so long, you were the only parent that I had,
while growing up I didn't care...I was just a carefree lad,
you looked after me, and smothered me with love...I didn't need a dad.
As our shared birthday is almost here...mum it's you I really miss,
I'll think of you, with tears in my eyes...and give your photograph a kiss."
