Lost for Words

poem by: R.T. Aquinas
Written on Apr 12, 2018

I want to write another one now
I don't have time to wait
I just don't know what to write
Please forgive me, mate.

When I fancied Meg,
I never knew what to say
So please, my friend,
Can't you wait just another day?

A poet lost for words,
What a curse it be
But please, my friend,
Be patient then maybe you will see

Poets don't find their words,
The words find their poets
It is a special gift
And to the Saints, I owe it

I can't always find the words
Sometimes it still comes out all wrong
So I ask you to try to understand
When there's many twists in my tongue

But when they come in your sleep it's so easy to lose them again.
