Black hearts

poem by: Chris Cleverly
Written on Oct 27, 2017

Not yet awake, nor at home
these are the places shadows want to stay.
So let those demons arch their wings
and join in the battle of the black hearts.

It took a while to get what you are expressing in this little verse, not sure if my interpretation corresponds with yours, but it is excellent Chris.

Thank you very much Cecilia, it is always nice to read your comments and feedback. I could explain about the very essence of this poem, dissecting and laying out the bare and honest intent of its words but..........that's no fun is it ;)

Definitely imagery at its best. A dark and detailed brevity piece that I thought was engaging and intelligent.
