Weather of war

poem by: Robert Kohlhammer
Written on Oct 21, 2017

By the saw of a pale sickle hewn
  pouring the creamy firmament
cries spill over a milky temperate swoon
skimming the surface of her torment

Rippled skein of an arching bow
River of frost on a moonscape glade
Opium blooms with holly and mistletoe
Casting the dye of her snow leopard spots

Crystal pillars of halo and ice
Lye dormant in her winter garden
The veiled kiss of snow white
Slowly thaws the bluff of a wintry dusting
