Why do the wicked prosper?

Why in God's name,
and if He is still
ruling from His
Heavenly throne,
Do the wicked prosper?

The rectorial question is as
ancient as the dawn of time.
Every since wicked Cain,
murdered righteous Abel.
People have sitting around
their campfires spinning
cobwebs in the air.

Doesn't God even care?
God alone knows and understands
the wicked thoughts words and
deeds of wicked human's hearts.

Left to their own devices,
they would have annihilated
themselves long before
the year of my birth 1954.

My grandparents also believed
the exact same thing applied to
their generation's involvement
in both the first and second world wars.

Referring to the forbidden fruit
of the Garden of Eve,
my grand parents Mr. and
Mrs. Taylor Austin Pennock,
commonly believed.

"Some one would have
eaten the apple a long
before the time I was even
born." They earnestly
believed we should not
be so hard on poor Adam
and Eve."

Quiet honestly I do believe.
Satan gave Eve no peace.
The Bible does not tell
us for how long Satan
kept calling out Eve's name,
before she exactly gave in
to him.

We can't blame Adam for
choosing his wife. He felt,
in his heart, he would lose
her forever." Probably,
my grandfather heard
the same story from
his own father.

Why then do the wicked prosper?
"God is in the heavens laughing
at wicked men and women, who
think they can get away with
their evil deeds."

You may be able to fool your mother,
you may be able to fool your mother,
but you are unable to fool God.
You will be held accountable for
all of your deeds. It means
everything you have done."

They probably aren't my Grandparents
words to my mother and her siblings.
But it is a pretty good example
of paraphrasing.

We have taken more than God's
Holy Book, the Bible out of public
schools, but prayer as well. God
forbid the Ten Commandments
should be posted on the public square.

They are offensive to those who fail to care.
"If people (especially children) are allowed
to (actually read the Ten Commandments they
might obey and follow them.)

And we can't have them doing that, can we?"
And they wonder what's wrong with our
society today. They wonder why do
the wicked prosper!

Love in Christ Jesus!

Wishful thinking

poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Why waste the time of day in wishful thinking? Why spin cobwebs in the air? Why wish upon a star, when no one hears? Many years I have spent in wishful thinking. Day dreaming most of my life away. Wasting away the years, Ign... Read more

Jesus Christ is my major source of inspiration, it is quite obvious to me. Without his help, I would possess no talent for composing any of my inspirational Christian poetry. He provides the words to say. He lightens my heavy ... Read more
