The Future

poem by: Gerry Legister

Forget the opportunities you throw away,
If prosperity should soon find you,
I hope it comes again today,
And make you listen to something new.

In the future, your luck can suddenly change,
You may have to muck in with the grime,
For your fortunes to rearrange,
But you’ll have your smile back in time.

To face another day in the future,
Come rain clouds or silhouette sunshine,
Your destiny reshaping is well secure,
If you ponder on hope long enough in mind.

See all your blessings gathering around,
You don’t know how, and you can’t say why?
It has taken so long for it to come down,
Ask the Lord who hangs out clouds on high.

Upon which line, he lay the blanket sky
All the heaven’s glory makes us amaze,
Watching display of infinite stars flew by,
Leaving the past behind the enduring blaze.
