My Boy

poem by: Gemma Marsh
Written on Feb 22, 2017

13 years old now such an inspiration
All you've been through yet see the world with admiration
You may be restricted in a physical way
But you see the sunshine on the cloudiest day
I've held your hand from day one
When times were critical you always held on
A boy so young a lot you have to fight
You never give in you use all your might
Surgery illness hospital stays
Being told at times these were your last days
But you sit there the miracle you are
From those early days you have come so far
An intelligent kind and loving boy
You've filled me with strength and endless joy
We will face the hurdles together
Our mother son bond that will last forever
