Emotion Highway

poem by: Paul Stephens
Written on Jan 08, 2017

I have trekked the emotional highway
As all have done at some stage
Disappointed in the direction it's been going
If I continued it would lead me to rage

I'm so glad I took the last exit
Taking the backstreets for a bit of a change
From there the views are much better
More relaxed and a new friend I've gained

What's the point of getting there faster
When all you'll do is arrive dead and on time
It's much better to stop and smell the roses
Learn to live and know it's no crime

That's why I'm taking you with me
Cause I needed someone I could trust
Keeping clear of that emotional highway
I've earned the right to say "go eat me dust"

Good one Christopher, they smell devine if you can take the time. It's all up to us how we conduct our lives. No one is holding a gun to our heads so it our choice.
