Jessica's Response

poem by: Godfrey Georges
Written on Dec 10, 2016

As with my daughter, death found my brother,
And waiting at the pearly gates was Ruth, our mother.
She greeted him, Peace be still,
For He will be here, no need to will.
Alvin stood on the streets of pure gold
Realizing that he's living the greatest story ever told
They embraced each other, hugged and kissed
He's living his dream in Jesus bliss
But a young woman appeared beyond recognition
Make no mistake though, she's a Georges definition
Mom; is that Jessie? She's walking! She's...
Yes uncle pastor, it's me; and I'm so glad that we
Are in this heavenly place, where grace saved me.
And I thank you for speaking so eloquently,
And for ushering me here,
Where my mind, and body are whole and free.

In memory of my mother, father, daughter Jessica and
my brother, Rev. Alvin Georges, DD
