The Hunter's Moon

poem by: Christopher Russon
Written on Nov 06, 2016

Those memories of the past
Are there to remind us
Of our journey through time
From youthful days of vigor
To years now in decline.

Now the sun has lost its glow
Autumn leaves start to fall
Leading to winter's snow
The frost awaits to greet us all
Memories stay, seasons come and go.

December will be upon us soon
With thoughts of days gone by
All those Saturday nights we had
Reaching for those stars so high
In those days at the Hunter's Moon.

Lovely poem and so true, at the end we are left with beautiful memories, because, hopefully, the bad ones disappear with time.

thank you for your comment Cecilia.

A beautiful whistful poem that strikes close to home. I love the use of seasonal and diurnal references, particularly "hunters' moon" (excuse my addition of the apostrophe).
Christopher Russon commented:
thank you Geoffrey.
