Expectations... "World Peace"?

poem by: Rod Moffat
Written on Jul 28, 2016

We all from time to time travel this path
opinions triggered by exposure and experiences
Acceptance can be personal and principled
but in the end desires most influence our chances

Decisions based on fact are not always consistent
bias will lead to a decision based on taste and preferences
Colour and creed can sometimes restrict
more than not highlight our differences.

To expect a return for a majority investment
can cause discontent when not forthcoming
Attitude and reward from international co-operation
undermined when home grown tries to be all conquering.

Solutions that should be successfully negotiated
may not be available through middle ground intolerance
Dogma and frustration can be the trigger for aggression
resulting in actions to never find solutions and balance.

So a key to unlock the mechanism of prodigious peace
may have been lost in the sands of blind faith's confusion
And not having a solution for today's problems
will forever damage our future's hope and expectations.

                                    ***********

It has been said "No expectations, No disappointments"
