Traffic Observance

poem by:
Written on Jul 23, 2016

you drive like a fool, and no one seems to know the reason,
swerving in and out of traffic, committing vehicular treason.
pull over, I say, before someone is killed thanks to you,
bend over, I pray, so I have a place to insert my shoe.
you have a blank look on your face, as we stop for a red light,
and a "Stop Texting and Driving" sticker, comical to my sight.
another example of hypocrisy, probably the fourth one this week,
If man doesn't start using his brain, our future does appear bleak.
On to the next car, and it appears they are driving just fine,
and once again, time to stop at a red light, and look, another sign.
This time the sticker on their vehicle reads "Baby on Board",
As if when encountering only adults in cars, traffic laws should be ignored.
