Whispers in Moonlight

poem by: Carl Davis
Written on May 20, 2016

I don't want to be the sun in your life that will promise to brighten your day.
I don't want to be the rain in your life that will promise to wash away your pain.
I don't want to be the wind in your life that will promise to cool you on a hot sunny day.
I don't want to be the star in your life for I know it will glimmer and shoot away.
I simply ask to be the moon in your life so when the sun no longer shines in your life.
I will shine my light in your darkest hours. I will glime my ray of light across your soul and give you hope.
I will whisper in your ear and whisper.
"You have someone here who truly cares"
