I see her standing at the gate, I see in her eyes the anger and hate, I see the light inside her shining, I see her soul hurt and pinning, I see the look the social worker gave her, I see the cat in her arms purr, I see her look up at me, I see she looks hopeful as we sip our tea. I see the mistrust in her eyes, I see the social worker say her bye byes. I see the look of hope in her soul as I empty breakfast cereal in a bowl. I see the mistrust ebbing away in her eyes, I see the hurt and pain that dies, I see the anger and the rage when temper flares like a trapped animal in a cage. I see my patience, understanding take effect, I see the beginnings of love reflect. I see it in her soul, acceptance, love and trust. I see a child growing up now free from dust. I see a child that now calls me by my name, I see a foster child that came, I see a woman who's gained a lot, I see person recovered from being shot. I see a grown woman who's now enjoying life, I see a girl that's now a mother and a wife. I see a woman who still calls me mum I see a human that's now not so glum I see in her eyes gratitude I see a positive attitude. I see the next foster mother, I see her helping another.
