Writer's Block

poem by: Ernest Areheart
Written on May 16, 2015

It ended as it began
A tale of scripted love
The characters set in place
A stale title sits above

Will there be another chance
To edit this broken story?
Or will our lines sink in
And erase this fictional glory?

Your heart blinded my mind's eye
Now you're all that I see
It was over so quickly, quietly
Over for you, but not for me

Maybe after your face fades
From the clouds in the sky
The memories and world we built
Will just as quietly pass me by

The end will be drawn with a pen
I'll put our story on a shelf
Because the right thing to do
Is to close the page, let go of you

Christopher Russon commented:
I had to read this poem a few times to get the full understanding. And then it all fell into place. Well written I like it.when love has gone.one must let go.sad fact.
