Did I count

poem by: Elizabeth J White
Written on Apr 24, 2015

I was walking on a path surrounded by nature and trees taller than buildings side by side in front of me.

I kept walking to the trees, slowly talking ,the wind made them bow ,as though, I their queen.

I waved as I passed the dogwood, spruce and pine, they seem to say good by ,at least in my mind.

I passed fields of wild flowers I prayed for rain it rained for hours.

I prayed for son, to warm them from head to toe, and then I saw little sprouts grow and grow.

I kept walking, and talking to the live plants of earth, took care of the soil until it gave birth.

When the sprout that I once had sewn I watched it sprout and grow til grown.

I did everything to take care of mother earth with all my might, I cleaned up trash thrown by fellow

man trying to make things right.

Oh was it enough like some great dream, did I count , is the world serene?
