Help me...

poem by: Frank Hornby .

"Uneasy with being too happy...because for me I knew that soon it would end..
My head was a tangle of emotions...trying to smile, and sadly pretend..
nobody knew of my problems inside...my secrets I just couldn't confide..
I was a young teenager, like the rest of the lads...
but they never had to deal with the shit...from their controlling dads...
Happiness lasted for maybe three, or four days...then came the weekends...
...and then it was back to old ways...
back to the arguing, and shouting...with him, and my poor mum..
back alone in my miserable room...again feeling angry, and glum..
Why should I be happy?...because I knew it was a lie!...
I desperately needed someone to help me...someone special, to help me get by."

Help eventually came...in an angel called Mary... (my girlfriend, and still my beautiful wife)...
