The Wise Old Man..

poem by: Frank Hornby .
Written on Jun 28, 2021

"We were lying on the grass, after a couple of hours of fun...
our T shirts were scattered all around, as we lay in the blazing sun...
an old man passed us by...then stopped, and gave some sound advice,
He said, "Lads, you must turn over every ten minutes, or you will pay a painful price, it doesn't take very long for the sun to really burn...so listen to a wise old head, and a valuable lesson you'll all learn."
We all did what he had said...and acquired an even tan,
I've never forgotten that good advice...from that friendly, wise old man."
